Muay Thai

Muay Thai is referred to as the “Art of Eight Limbs” because it makes use of punches, kicks, elbows and knee strikes, thus using eight “points of contact”, as opposed to the two points used in boxing and four points used in kickboxing. Muay Thai became widespread internationally in the twentieth century, when it’s practitioners defeated notable practitioners of other martial arts. We would like to invite you to our community to try out the art of Muay Thai. The art that shows you how to reach your maximum fitness level with 8 limbs.

Rob Reid is a blue belt under Bruckmann Martial Arts and has been training BJJ for 4 years.  He is dedicated to his students growth in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in both the self defense aspect as well as the discipline. Rob is also regularly competing and training to improve his own skills.

Rob has trained Muay Thai for 15 years now and has not only won a provincial, 2x national and TBA North American title but has also fought overseas in Thailand winning a pro fight against a Thai fighter, along with fighting in Macedonia for team Canada.  He is well rounded in not only Muay Thai but Dutch style kickboxing as well (K1).  Rob likes all his students to focus mainly on keeping fit and having fun but at the same time knowing the art is a devastating striking system and is not to be taken lightly.  Rob has coached students from 3 to 60 years of age.  His competition team is hot on the MTO circuit with all ages competing in national level shows along with provincial and national tournaments.
